CHAINSAW - Smell The Saw CD

Smell the saw...

Back in 1996 we started this band, before that we had been messing about in rehearsal studio’s for

some time but nothing serious.

It was more like having a beer with some friends while trying to make more noise than the band next

door.

At some point we decided to start a real band, inspired by eighties thrash metal we set off.

But fate was not smiling down on us, for years we were plagued by disaster.

It started with our drummer, Alex, who one day went bananas and told us he was his twin brother Teddy

and that Alex was in an Indonesian hospital recovering from a drug overdose.

Shortly after, Alex/Teddy disappeared and we never saw him again...

Don -then our second guitar player- replaced him, but after a while his lung collapsed.

He spent a month in the hospital and couldn’t drum for 9 months.

After that all went fine again, until Magnus got himself electrocuted at work.

On the way back from the hospital he smashed his head through the windshield in a car crash.

Then right before what was going to be our very first gig, Yanni decided to smash his hand into a

concrete wall.

Unfortunately the wall was tougher...

But we never gave up and the tide seemed to turn when

in 2001 we managed to record the ‘Chainsaw is the law’7”

without any one of us dying or in any other way being

unable to play.

And now, after eight years of disaster, mayhem and

perseverance we finally conceived ‘Smell the Saw’.
